Resumo


The goal of the present study was to map the actual implementation of the Multifunctional Resource Rooms in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Norte, and investigate the education and experiences of teachers who work in these rooms. Fifty of these teachers from the state educational system took part in our survey. Their responses were analyzed through descriptive statistics and discourse analysis. Results reveal that in more than half of the municipalities of the state such resource rooms are not available, and that the greater difficulties faced by teachers are the lack of further education and resources. This indicates the need for actions towards guaranteeing meaningful learning and full development for the children who use the rooms.
