Resumo: Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar os problemas de inclusão que os deficientes visuais da região Centro Oeste de Minas Gerais possuem para frequentar instituições de ensino. A análise dos seus problemas de acesso foi feita utilizando-se dados obtidos através de entrevistas com deficientes visuais e do estudo de trabalhos relacionados ao tema. Além disso, o trabalho aborda a importância do uso de recursos de Informática e de materiais didáticos adaptados para o seu uso como forma de auxiliar a sua inclusão nas instituições de ensino, de modo a permitir que eles tenham acesso aos meios de informação presentes em tais instituições.
Abstract: This article aims to present the problems of inclusion that the visually impaired in the Midwest region of Minas Gerais have to attend educational institutions. The analysis of their problems of access was made using data obtained through interviews with visually impaired and studying about this issue. In addition, the study discusses the importance of the use of computer resources and materials suitable for use as an aid to their inclusion in educational institutions, to allow them access to the media present in such institutions.
