Resumo

This work presents a systematic review carried out to identify how Augmented Reality (AR) technology has been evaluated. Based on the lessons learned, an AR tool, the ARBlocks, was evaluated for language learning with three different groups. The study involved the teacher as an instructional designer along with the use of multiple metrics. The results showed that the tool contributed to student's learning, practice and reinforcement of language abilities. Guidelines were proposed to assist the evaluation of AR educational tools. The use of multiple metrics and the active involvement of teachers in the content creation are encouraged as ways to better understand the impact of technology.
