Uma experiência do uso do Software Livre GCOMPRIS na aprendizagem de crianças do Ensino Fundamental

Resumo: Este artigo apresenta os resultados de um projeto de promoção da inclusão digital através da capacitação de crianças do ensino fundamental, em escolas públicas, para o uso de software livre em atividades de aprendizagem. Foram realizadas oficinas nos laboratórios de informática das escolas onde o software educacional GCOMPRIS e as distribuições Linux KELIX e Kurumim Light foram utilizados. O artigo relata o processo de concepção e elaboração das oficinas e analisa os dados provenientes de questionários respondidos e de entrevistas realizadas com as crianças. Os resultados demonstram as contribuições referente ao potencial e a adequação do software livre para o contexto escolar.
Abstract: This article presents a project to promote digital inclusion through training children of public primary schools for the use of free software in learning activities. Some workshops were accomplished in schools labs where GCOMPRIS educational software and KELIX and Kurumim Light Linux distributions were used. The paper describes the workshop conception and preparation and analyses data from questionnaires and interviews conducted with the children. The results point out the contributions concerning the potential and suitability of free software for the school context.
