iLM Filter

iLM Filter enables teachers to develop interactive texts in any asynchronous context in Moodle as forum, glossary and the wiki, by incorporating a iLM created content.

The process is very simple, requiring only to enter the the name of the file generated in the
iLM, after uploading the same between the specific delimiters <ia> and </ia > in the position where the interactive content generated by the iLM will appear. Filter iLM has the following parameters:
  • toolbar: Controls the display of the button bar of the iLM (for that the iLM must have this feature);
  • width and height: Controls the height and width of the area in which the iLM will be presented.
If these parameters are not defined iLM Filter uses your default settings toolbar=disable, width=800 and height=600. An example of interesting use of this feature is to let the glossary component of Moodle more interactive.

Figure 12 illustrates this use, featuring the word orthocenter. On the left side of the figure is the issue of the term (wrote by the teacher) and appears on the right side of the filter result, presenting the text in an integrated iLM.

Table (a) of the figure shows an example of the filter with the button bar disabled and the size of the area with 400 pixels wide and
height with 300 pixels, the notation used in this example:

<ia toolbar=disable width=400 height=300>Glossario/ortocentro.geo<⁄ia>

The table (b) shows the same example but with the bar enabled, and the size of the area and width = 500 height = 500, the notation used in this example:

<ia toolbar=enable width=500 height=500>Glossario/ortocentro.geo<⁄ia>
