Modelos de Regressão Aplicados a Predição do Desempenho Escolar de Estudantes do Ensino Fundamental

Resumo


This article investigates the applicability of regression models for predicting the performance of students belonging to the public schools of the State of Pernambuco. The study is based on information from the years 2015 and 2017 exams. The knowledge was extracted from data through the Stepwise method, is possible to identify the factors associated with that more influence school performance. Parametric regression models were applied and non-parametric, to predict performance. The results showed that factors such as the number of people who live in the residence, the encouragement of parents school tasks, and the area where the student resides, has a strong influence on school performance.
