Sempre Atento ao Fórum: Alertas SMS para os Aprendizes se Coordenarem
Resumo
Resumo: Neste trabalho, é investigado o envio de alertas para auxiliar aprendizes a coordenarem sua participação em fóruns educacionais. Para cumprir as tarefas exigidas neste tipo de atividade, aprendizes têm que acompanhar a discussão e realizar as tarefas exigidas. Uma dificuldade que os participantes de um fórum têm é que o momento da chegada de mensagens é imprevisível, exigindo acesso freqüente ao ambiente educacional para saber como a discussão está se desenvolvendo. Este trabalho apresenta um estudo de caso onde são utilizados alertas através de mensagens de texto SMS para prover suporte à coordenação através de mais informações de percepção sobre o progresso do fórum.
Abstract: In this paper, alerts regarding forum progress as a means of helping learners to follow educational forums is investigated. In order to accomplish the tasks required in this kind of activities, learners must follow the discussion and identify when is the best time to send their messages. One difficulty that they face is the fact that the moment a message will arrive is unforeseeable, demanding frequent forum access to find out how the discussion is progressing. This paper presents a case study in which alerts through SMS messages to notify learners about the forum progress, providing awareness as a way to support coordination.
