Abstract: Exploratory research with students who were enrolled in an introductory un- dergraduate astronomy course, to see if the use of Virtual Reality in classroom make ease to understand astronomical phenomenon’s and concepts. The research made use of "quasi-experiment" design, dividing the students in two groups of twelve students. In the experimental group, the students built four 3D models of astronomical phenome- non’s and in the control group, the same phenomenons and concepts were given to the students using the traditional lecture-based instruction. At end, the conclusions of this research were: a) the use of 3D modeling gives to the student a better understanding of the astronomical concepts and phenomenons; b) the use of the 3D Virtual Reality in the classroom increases the student's motivation and cooperation between them.
